The Gradel Quadrangles, on the College's site at Savile Road, were officially opened by the University's Vice-Chancellor on 13 April 2024 and provide some additional 100 student bedrooms, a student common room and a new concert Hall. The Student Financial Aid Fund at New College helps students who are facing financial challenges, including those in unexpected financial difficulty. This may be as a result of personal or family health issues, unforeseen economic factors or an unavoidable need to extend study time. The Fund has played a vital part in supporting numerous students impacted by Covid-19 over the last two years.
Graduate students are the core of Oxford’s research enterprise, but New College faces enormous competition internationally to attract the most talented applicants. In addition, there are a number of undergraduate students every year who are only able to continue their studies if they can find financial support. Grants have been awarded to support scholarships generally and also for students going to New College from the US.
The Choir of New College, composed of adult singers and boy trebles, is one of the leading choral ensembles in the world, celebrated for its distinctive and stylish performance of music from five centuries Many of the services are now livestreamed or available as recordings.
